Today I am likely to cover lard versus. vegetable oil. Lard is pig fat. Tallow is beef or lamb fat. We are speaking about the kind of lard or tallow that’s organic and from pastured and grass-given creatures.

Many people possess a fixed concept that fatty foods, especially lard, equals clogged arterial blood vessels. Before Crisco was invented, everybody cooked with lard or tallow, also it wasn’t considered bad. After Crisco (that is trans fat) was invented, it had been marketed like a healthier substitute to lard and tallow (that are fatty foods). However, trans fats were banned through the Food and drug administration in 2015.

Fatty foods:

• Lard

• Tallow

• Butter

• Coconut oil

* Fatty foods are extremely stable and cause less oxidation and toxin damage. They’re also intended to be used at greater temperatures.

Unsaturated fats:

• Corn oil

• Soy oil

• Canola oil

• Cottonseed oil

* Unsaturated fats are extremely unstable, particularly when heated. They are able to cause inflammation, insulin resistance, oxidation, and toxin damage.

In conclusion, In my opinion lard and tallow tend to be healthier than vegetable oils.
